I personally agree with most of what Appiah is talking about but are definitely some parts I disagree with. Appiah mentions that he see’s the world as a “tribe” and also says that we can all live in harmony. I don’t think I would describe the world as a tribe or living in harmony because I think the world is very different and there are so many different views on things and different religions and beliefs. I think the world is very diverse and many people disagree with things and have arguments and have their own opinions. I think of a tribe being more as one, and having the same or very similar views on everything and agreeing on everything. I don’t think the world is like that because there are disagreements all the time. I take living in harmony as peaceful and everyone getting along with everyone but I’m not sure that’s exactly how the world is. I wouldn’t describe the world as peaceful because there are many disagreements which lead to wars and battles. I think it is just human nature to disagree and not just follow everyone else. So because of how diverse the world is, I think the word tribe and harmony don’t really fit. I think Appiah’s views on these words and the world are very different than mine.
