I think that the argument Chen is trying to make in this essay is to try and humanize Megan. She does this by telling her life story in great detail. She showed how sometimes people are just forced to believe things against their own will. Also how people are just born into certain beliefs and can’t really just go against their whole family. She also showed how change can happen through the internet like this change happened through twitter. The Internet can allow change to happen.

She makes this argument by showing the impact that the internet has and how even though these relationships started as arguments, it ended with friendship and completely changing Megan’s whole lifestyle and questioning her beliefs and her families beliefs.
