Learning Outcome 3: Active Reading

For active reading I often reread the text a few times because you often don’t completely understand it the first time. In the text I usually highlight important things and also underlines things. Often in the text to the side I will add important notes and my opinions as well. There are quotes that I question and thought of in different ways. For example, when Appiah’s quote talks about the global tribe and I thought that the word isn’t necessarily a “tribe”. Overall, in active reading I took a lot of time to dissect the text and understand what was being said.
